CITIZEN’S COMMENTS: Board of Trustee candidate, Jerry Trittien, was present. He expressed a willingness
to serve on the Board. Board agreed that Jerry should be recommended to the Mayor for appointment. Jerry
would serve on the Budget Committee vacated by Gary Knox.

Dan said that three patrons attended the Technology Open House. They were particularly interested in learning
how to download books to a Kindle. Dan pointed out that our catalog now provides patrons with information on
NEIBORS books available as well as free downloads from Gutenberg Project (e-books) and Librivox (audio
books).

The Halloween program is planned for Saturday, October 29 from 2:00 to 3:00pm.

The damaged window screen has not yet been repaired. Discussed trimming the Russian Sage; Dan said he was
willing to cut them back.

New internet service seems to be working better. There have been no complaints about internet service since the
change.

The Annual Patron Survey has been updated to include a special survey on free electronic services offered by
the library.

Discussed revision to the Collection Development and Interlibrary Cooperation policy. Board agreed that the
current wording was fine and no changes were recommended. Policy will remain as written.

The Board viewed a portion of a Trustee video training about the responsibilities of a Trustee. Additional
segments will be viewed and discussed at future board meetings.
