E-books and E-readers at the Eldora Public Library

At the Eldora Public Library reading needs are generally met through print books, but there are times when electronic books are useful.  More and more authors are starting to use only an e-book format.  E-books can be a good option for large print readers.  Sometimes the library can save money supplying an e-book instead of a paper book.  Same day downloading of an e-book can meet an urgent need for a title.  The library makes an effort to find the best reading solution for each library user.

The library currently has for use six Kindle Touch readers donated in part by the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation.  To see what e-books are available to read on these devices go to the library catalog, click on "more search options," click on the keyword arrow, select "call number starts with," type in the word "kindle," click on search, and see the results.

To check out an e-reader you will need to meet certain requirements.  Click here.

If you have your own e-book reader you can also choose from a large selection of e-books through the NEIBORS service.  Click here to find out about that.
