MINUTES approved. BILLS approved.
Discussed increased security measures at the back door. Police Chief Ted Paxton, recommended a door
alarm, a motion light and additional security cameras at the front desk and in the office area. Dan said the
additional cameras would cost $130 each. The current security camera system has room for two
additional cameras. Board approved the purchase of the cameras, a motion light and an alarm. Ian will
talk to Bob about installation as well as Chief Paxton and the Hardin County IT person.
Discussed heating issues. Dan is waiting for an estimate from Brown Heating & Cooling to install a more
simplified system.
Cameras to the children’s area and lobby have been installed. The monitoring device can be carried with
library staff as they work throughout the building.
Discussed Special Trust as the renewal date was approaching. Board voted to not renew immediately.
Dean will contact the bank to hold the funds in a super saver account until we know the total cost of
increased security measures as well as the cost of a new copier with color capability for patron use.
Briefly discussed library levy. Ian said he is willing to meet with board members to discuss any concerns.
Dan suggested that a Kindle Fire be purchased for the library. A refurbished model could be an
economical option. Dan showed the board how to locate ebooks on the catalog system.
