The Friends recently donated a nice set of biographies and a number of books for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Shopko donates books

Thanks to Shopko for their gift of $250 to buy books for the summer reading program.


The State has contracted for different databases to serve Iowans through Public Libraries.  See Online Services for two new links: State Library of Iowa Databases, a collection of resources, and Chilton Auto Repair.

Bike Rodeo
Sponsored by the Police Department, we encourage children to attend this event across the street from library.  Bring your bicycle.  Free for area children.

Blank Park Zoo
Another program for children, Blank Park Zoo brings animals for the children to see up close.  Free for area children.

2:00-3:00 Thursday, July 13
Princess Belle
Muffy's Princesses provides a performer portraying a character from folklore, this year it's Princess Belle,  entertaining children with story and song.  Free for area children.

Weekly Summer Reading Prize Drawing for Adults

When you return a book to the library you may enter a drawing for a weekly prize.  You may enter the drawing for each book returned.  If you return a book in the book drop when the library is closed you may fill out an entry the next time you come to the library when it's open.
